iPhone Setup Guide for Emailing in RepMove

Apple devices require the use of the native Mail app to send emails from within the RepMove app, especially when using email templates. This guide will help you configure your iPhone properly so that emails are sent from your preferred work email address.

Why Is This Setup Needed?

When sending emails from RepMove on an iPhone:
  • Apple enforces the use of their Mail app for composing emails.
  • Even if you use Outlook or Gmail normally, RepMove must pass the email through the Mail app’s system.
  • Without proper setup, emails might send from the wrong account (such as iCloud or a personal Gmail).

Step-by-Step Setup for Apple Mail

1. Ensure the Mail App Is Installed

  • Open your iPhone
  • Swipe down and search for “Mail”
  • If you don’t see it, go to the App Store and download Apple Mail

2. Add Your Work Email to Mail App

  • Go to Settings → search and tap Mail
  • Tap Accounts
  • Tap Add Account
  • Select your email provider (e.g., Outlook, Google)
  • Sign in with your work email and complete setup

You must have at least two email accounts in Mail (including iCloud)

3. Set the Default Email App

  • In Settings, scroll to or search for Mail
  • Tap the Default Mail App
  • Select Mail (Apple's native app)

4. Set the Default "From" Account for Composing

  • In Settings → Mail → scroll to Composing
  • Tap Default Account
  • Select your work email (e.g., Exchange or Outlook)
  • If you skip this step, emails may be sent from your iCloud or personal account.

How This Works in RepMove

  • When you send an individual or mass email from the RepMove mobile app, it opens in the Mail app’s composer.
  • Even if you use Outlook or Gmail, the Mail app will format and send the message.
  • Your selected default email account will be the sender.
  • Email templates (subject line, body, and document links) will appear only if set up by an admin and only when using the mobile app.
  • Recipients receive a standard email from your email address, not through RepMove.
  • Replies go directly to your inbox (e.g., Outlook, Gmail).
